Mini programs have become one of the most practical tools a small business can pick up, and they are genuinely good at both day-to-day operation and promotion. The question we hear most often is simply: what does building one cost, what kind of company should I work with, and what should I watch out for? This article walks through the whole process step by step, starting from the simplest case.

We start with the simplest kind of mini program because everything more complex is built out of the same basic parts. Understand the basics properly and the complicated versions will make sense later.
Verification: ¥300
A new mini program has to be verified, and the fee is a flat ¥300. The process itself is straightforward — follow the prompts in the console and it is done. If you already hold a verified official account, you can register the mini program through it instead and skip the step entirely.
Server: around ¥2,000 a year
A mini program needs a server. Providers differ widely and so do prices, so pick according to your expected traffic. With heavy traffic, go with a large, stable cloud platform; monthly rates run roughly ¥100–500. With moderate traffic, a cheaper instance is enough and about ¥2,000 a year covers it.
Development: around ¥2,000
This is the part everyone focuses on, and it takes less time than people expect — typically seven to ten days. Development alone is usually priced around ¥2,000, which does not include visual design. The important thing is to work with a proper development company rather than an individual: pricing stays stable afterwards, extra charges do not appear, and you can still reach someone when something needs fixing.
Maintenance: around ¥1,000 a year
A mini program needs ongoing maintenance if it is going to keep supporting the business. A reputable company will take this on for roughly ¥1,000 a year, though you can also maintain it yourself. Handing it over is usually the better call — it saves you the work, and a professional team knows where maintenance effort should actually go.
Add it up: ¥300 verification + ¥2,000 server + ¥2,000 development + ¥1,000 maintenance (optional) comes to about ¥4,000 to get a basic mini program built and running. Once you have that picture, the next step is simply to start.
