There are a lot of companies that can build a mini program, and mini programs are everywhere now. When you go looking for a developer, these are the things to check.
Three things to check first
1. Reputation
Whether a company is any good shows in what people say about it. Search for it: plenty of positive mentions — solid engineering, good service — is a reason to talk. A trail of complaints and accusations of cheating is a reason to walk away.
2. Experience
Experience shows in the work. A company with a broad portfolio, including projects across several industries, has done this before. A company with no cases at all usually has not, and should be treated with caution.
3. An in-house team
A serious developer has its own engineers — front end, back end, design. If there is no in-house team, think again.
Five more questions worth asking
Does it have a proper website?
If an internet company cannot put up a website of its own, draw your own conclusions. The odds of it being a shell operation go up.
What comes up when you search for it?
Search the developer’s name. If the results are complaints, accusations or plainly negative coverage, be careful.
What do its clients say?
Ask companies that have worked with it. This kind of feedback is hard to fake and usually accurate.
Can it show you real cases?
If there is not a single delivered project, either the company is brand new or it has only just started this line of work. Either way the experience is thin and the capability is hard to judge — working with it means being the test case.
Does it quote before understanding your requirements?
Mini program cost and timeline are set by the features required. A developer that quotes you before knowing what you need — or even what kind of mini program you want — is not being straight with you.
