What a Mini Program Costs, Line by Line

As the web matured, WeChat kept upgrading, and in recent years mini programs have been taken up by owners in every trade. The reach and the traffic pull are striking. Add the practical virtues — light, no download, open anywhere, usable by anyone regardless of age or where they are — and the enthusiasm makes sense. So what does building one cost?

The one fee you cannot avoid

Registering a mini program costs 300 yuan a year for verification. There is no way around it.

Template builds

A template costs little and has no fixed floor: if you can use a computer you can operate it yourself, because the modules are already written and you assemble what you need. Template builds generally run from a few hundred to a few thousand yuan, depending on the package you choose.

Custom builds

Commissioning a team to build one is a different exercise, and the range is wide — thousands to tens of thousands — because there are more stages and more people: someone to sit with the client and work out the requirement, a designer to produce the screens, programmers to write the code, and several rounds of testing before release. That route suits a company that wants the mini program to be genuinely its own.

The useful way to read those ranges is as a menu rather than a price list. Fix what the mini program is for, then ask what that costs — a number without a scope attached to it tells you nothing.
