A Repair-Request Mini Program for Industrial Equipment

An equipment repair mini program exists for a specific situation: specialist machinery has broken down, and the business needs to find a technician nearby who knows how to fix that model.

The starting point is the company’s own equipment register. Machines are added by brand name and model number, so the system knows exactly what is installed and where.

When something fails, the request goes out from the mini program rather than through a phone call, and the engineers who can actually service that equipment are the ones who see it.

What the product contains

It is a two-sided system, with a user side and an engineer side.

  • Quick repair request, and the equipment register under My Equipment
  • Repair company and repair account management
  • Engineers nearby, and notification of a specified engineer
  • Fault type, fault location and a written description, plus free-form notes
  • Scan-to-report, so a code on the machine opens the request pre-filled
  • Engineer onboarding and merchant onboarding
  • Online support

Why the structure matters

The design decision that carries the weight is the fault record: type, location and description captured at the moment of failure rather than relayed later by phone. That single change is what lets an engineer arrive with the right part, which is the difference between one visit and three.
