1. Keyword ranking
A mini program’s ranking combines its name, launch time and user visits. Mini program names are unique, so based on what users search and what your product is, register as many suitable names as you can to push the ranking higher and make the program easier for users to find. That is also why you should keep optimising the mini program’s content.
2. Nearby mini programs
Nearby mini programs appear in the Nearby section, shown automatically to WeChat users within a certain distance; every qualifying mini program within range can be displayed there.
3. Sharing with friends and Moments
Mini programs can currently only be shared with friends or into group chats. Many owners keep posting them into groups, gathering as many groups as they can and dropping the mini program into each. It looks like a clumsy method, but it does work to a degree.
4. Linking official accounts
Link your mini program to other subscription accounts and promote through those accounts with the familiar official account playbook, guiding customers with articles. Many mini programs are promoted by binding to official accounts: inside the account, users scan a QR code or tap the mini program card and go straight in.
5. Offline QR codes
Offline promotion means picking up customers on the spot. For example, scanning a restaurant’s QR code while ordering takes you straight into its mini program, and you order right there in the store. A mini program’s QR code can be placed in many locations, and every scan can win new users.
