In mini program live streaming projects, enterprises care keenly about how many live rooms a WeChat mini program can open, listing and delisting goods, how many products can go live, network bandwidth and similar questions. Tencent’s official site has explained these common questions one by one.
Questions about live rooms
Q1. Is a live room’s broadcast duration limited? Can one mini program run several rooms streaming simultaneously?
Each room cannot broadcast for more than 24 hours. One mini program can support 50 rooms streaming at the same time, and the daily cap is also 50 sessions.
Q2. During a mini program live stream, why does scanning the shared mini program code show the page does not exist?
The mini program must import the live streaming component in its code and submit an updated version for review; otherwise the mini program code does not take effect.
Q3. What is the streamer-side mini program’s name, and how do you enter it?
The streamer-side mini program is called Mini Program Live; enter it directly by search or code scan.
Q4. How do you improve picture clarity for viewers?
Clarity depends on bitrate, network, streaming equipment and venue lighting. First, ensure the streamer’s network is a fixed IP on a dedicated 100M line. Second, use a high-definition front camera; a phone with a 25-megapixel front camera works well. Third, set up professional beauty lamps and reflectors in the room to strengthen the light. Fourth, the streamer side can set the clarity level, but the network must reach the required tier, or the higher setting causes stutter and frame drops. The tiers: standard definition at 300 to 800 bitrate, high definition at 800 to 1200, ultra high definition at 1200 to 1800.
Questions about goods and marketing
Q1. Can goods be listed, delisted or swapped during a stream?
Yes.
Q2. How many list goods are currently supported?
The cap on stocked goods is 2,000, and at most 500 goods can be submitted for review per day. Goods must pass review before entering the warehouse.
Q3. How long does goods review take?
Generally one to seven days. Only stocked goods can be added to a live room’s product list, so merchants are advised to enter their streaming goods into the warehouse early.
Q4. Why does the lucky draw show an abnormality when it opens?
Two usual causes: the streamer’s mini program was not kept in the foreground at draw time, having switched to another app; or the stream had already ended before the draw time, whether closed manually by the streamer, stopped from the admin side, or banned from streaming.
