What Traits Does Excellent UI Design Have?

1. Keep the interface consistent: design language, style and interaction stay consistent, and interface elements are unified.

2. Follow user cognition: colour, position, interaction and flow follow the user’s cognitive model. In health-check products, for example, designers follow abnormal data in red and normal data in green, rather than swapping colours for beauty’s sake.

3. Never interrupt the user: mind the push mechanisms; an ill-timed popup breaks the user’s flow.

4. Gestures fit user traits: on large-screen phones, put common navigation at the bottom for one-handed use, make page switching easy, and let left-right swipes change pages one-handed.

5. Use micro-animations: through visual means, help users understand the product’s operations more easily and fill the product with vitality.

6. Give feedback promptly: after a user completes an action, respond with feedback at once, so users fully understand the current page’s state and mis-taps are prevented.

7. Emotional design: ease the anxiety users feel when accidents happen during use, and achieve brand differentiation.
