As living standards rise, dessert has become a genuine enthusiasm. A lot of people spend their spare time learning how to make it, and then making what they like. A mini program built for that exists to make the learning easier, and this is what it should contain.
1. Display
The home page shows what is trending right now, and a tap takes the user into whatever they want to learn. The display is doing the work of a shop window: it has to make the choice easy, not present everything at once.
2. Categories
Dessert changes with the season and with the calendar: summer is different from winter, and festivals bring their own recipes. Sorting by category, and by occasion, is what lets a user find something they can actually make today.
3. Search
Search, on top of the categories, saves time for the user who already knows what they want. The two work together: browsing for the undecided, search for the decided.
4. Tutorials
The substance of the product: video and written tutorials, in quantity, at different levels. A recipe is only useful if it is precise, so this is where the effort has to go.
5. Sharing
Users upload photographs of what they made, and their own notes, for other users to learn from. That turns a library into a community, which is what brings people back after they have found what they came for.
6. News and tips
Recent dessert news and technique, pushed to users on a schedule. Small, frequent, and the reason the app stays in someone’s mind between baking sessions.
What makes one worth building
Recipes alone are a blog. The categories, the search and the sharing are what make it a product: they turn a static collection into something a user can move through, and something they can contribute to.
