What Features a Corporate Website Actually Needs

A company website is the business’s frontage on the internet: the thing that presents the company to every visitor who arrives and builds the brand in the process. A corporate build should include at least the following.

1. A homepage that presents the company

Images, text and video in front of the visitor, doing the work of a first impression. All of it should be editable — added to, changed or removed without calling a developer.

2. Product categories

For the company this is how the catalogue stays organised. For the visitor it is how they see at a glance what the company makes, understand the range, and find the one item they came for without reading everything.

3. Case studies

A site without a single case is asking the customer to take a risk on faith. Finished projects turn “we can do this” into evidence, and certificates and patents do the same job from another angle: once trust exists, the visitor will read further into what the company is actually capable of.

4. News

Regular updates do two things. They record the company’s own progress and show visitors where it stands, and they give the reader a view of what is moving in the industry — which is the part that brings people back a second time.

5. About us

Culture, history, people: the section that makes a company more than a supplier with a price list. It is also where a visitor with a question finds a way to reach someone, which quietly cuts the number of people who give up and leave.

6. A back end

Every site needs an administration area for editing images and copy, publishing content and keeping the thing current. Without it, every small change becomes a project.

Those six are the baseline, and in a serious build none of them is optional.
