How to Publish and Launch a Mini Program?

Now enterprises, governments, media and other organisations can all freely apply for and register mini programs. As for later development, production and successful release, the WeChat team provides a series of tools to help you develop, helping developers connect quickly and complete the mini program release, including developer documentation, developer tools, design guidelines and a mini program experience demo.

1. Developer documentation

The developer documentation mainly introduces the mini program’s development framework, the basic components, and the APIs and related development issues.

2. Developer tools

Developer tools help developers build WeChat mini programs simply and efficiently: WeChat has launched brand-new developer tools integrating coding, debugging, program release and related functions.

3. Design guidelines

The design guidelines set out design principles and standards, helping developers build a friendly, efficient and consistent user experience.

4. Mini program experience demo

This lets you experience the mini program’s components and API functions, and provides debugging functions for developers to use.

The main flow for connecting a WeChat mini program

1. Register: register a mini program on the WeChat official platform; after registration you can synchronise, complete information and develop.

2. Complete the mini program’s information: this process is basically filling in the mini program’s basic information, including its name, avatar and related introduction, and the service scope.

3. Develop the mini program: after binding the mini program’s developers and configuring developer information, developers download the developer tools from the official platform and follow the development documentation to develop and debug the mini program.

4. Submit for review and release

After all the above steps, the mini program’s development is complete; submit the code to the WeChat team for review, and only after approval can it be released. Note that during the public beta period mini programs cannot be released. After the mini program is released, pay attention to later management: how to collect data, what the data management system’s tasks and content are, and who the applicable users are. A WeChat mini program is also a shopfront, and it must be managed well.
