Pickup on demand. Beyond delivery to the door, the mini program can book a courier to collect a parcel — the request customers make most often and the one a phone line handles worst.
Lower acquisition cost. There is no shortage of courier firms and promotion is unavoidable. A mini program leans on WeChat’s distribution rather than paid channels, which brings the cost of reaching a customer down.
What it needs to do
Waybill entry
Drivers enter a waybill in the mini program, or photograph it and let recognition fill the fields. Either is faster and less error-prone than paper, and the record is timestamped from the moment it is captured.
Waybill lookup
A single search box returns the parcel the customer is asking about, with no account and no app to install.
Location
The mini program locates the customer, so pickup addresses and service coverage are settled without a conversation.
Reporting
Delivery data rolls up into reports that show a depot where its volume, timing and exceptions actually are — which is the difference between managing a route and guessing at it.
None of this is exotic. The real work is connecting the mini program to the waybill system already in place, and that integration is what separates a working courier mini program from a demonstration.
