Native development
Native app development means all pages and functions of the app are written in code, using different languages and frameworks for different mobile operating systems such as Android, iOS and Windows, and using the official development languages and tools of each platform: Java with Eclipse or Android Studio for Android, Objective-C and Xcode for iOS. Native apps can directly control hardware devices and give a good interactive experience, but they port poorly.
Strengths of native development: smaller installation files, fast response, good compatibility, strong extensibility, high security, high fluency, good user experience and easier updating and iteration. Because native development handles data properly, it does not freeze when visitor numbers surge.
Weaknesses of native development: high cost. Native app development involves more people, requiring at least one iOS engineer and one Android engineer, with corresponding staff for project planning, execution, UI design and more, so labour costs rise and the development cycle is longer.
Hybrid development
Hybrid app development combines native and H5 technologies: the app consists of a native framework plus H5 web pages, with no local data storage; all data sits in the cloud.
Strengths of hybrid development: short development cycle, low price, fast upgrades.
Weaknesses of hybrid development: the function interface of a hybrid app cannot be changed freely, updates and iterations are hard, and loading and use depend heavily on cloud speed and current network conditions; network speed directly affects the experience, and security is lower.
